After the sitting talk on this board, I have been analyzing my sitting habits a bit more. I thought I would report in that sometimes I use trickery and threats to get some sit time. Today DD and I played with blocks on our back patio for about 30 minutes before I retreated to the hammock. Immediately, she requested that I build more. At that point, I gave her two options 1) play by herself outside for a while or 2) go in and build with me. Lucky for me, she chose nature and the weather over her mom. I alternated my attention between watching the wind blow the trees and a cute girl creating masterpieces. At the conclusion of the event, I was able to add 30 minutes to my sit column. You gotta do what you gotta do.
Re: I threatened my kid so I could sit
That's not threatening. That's simply showing her that life is full of choices.
I'm on board with that
That is awesome parenting!!!
You gave her the choice to play independently and she took it and was probably just as happy if not more so!

My life has a superb cast but I can't figure out the plot.
She didn't have much of a choice - I wasn't giving up my lounging time
