Hello ladies (and any guys that might be out there)
I had got a positive pregnancy test on 5/09 and when I went to the doctor the following day (he took me right away because of my past loss and I have known him forever) he confirmed I was pregnant! He asked me when my last period was and I said (because I beleive this to be acurate but now the days are all blending together and I cannot remember) 4/04. Which with that date would put me due on Jan 10th 2012 and make me 7w 2d pregnant. the doctor had taken me in the office over the past couple of weeks to check my blood levels and had given me 2 ultrasounds. The first one (which was on 5/10) we didn't see anything which we anticipated because I was so early. The second on was on 5/18 and we saw a small yolk sac with a very tiny little embroy in there! We went back to the office today for our first sonogram we were told we would be able to hear the heart beat and see how everything is progressing..... However there was no heartbeat but the technician did say the baby had grown from the last visit. My doctor was not in today but my husband and I spoke to his colleauge and he said it appeared that I am measuring at abut 4w not the 7w I thought I was. Can my dates be that off????
I have been staining for a couple of days now nothing major nothing red all really dark brown, and I have been experiencing cramps but the doctor said this is all very normal. The docotor did however notice I had some blood behind my placenta but that is very common and that is why I am staining. He took more blood from me today and told me he would have the results for me tomorrow in order to make sure my numbers are going up! He didn't put me on bed rest but made sure I understood I cannot work out (as heavy as I usually do) I have to refrain from intercourse, and any heavy lifting pulling pushing etc.....
I was just wondering if anyone else has experienced this!
Is this normal? I'm kinda of a mess today because after my miscarriage in Nov. I don't want to think the worst but my mind is playing so many games with me right now!
Re: Some Questions..... Concerns.... Comments
I'm confused because if you saw a tiny embryo the one time you went in, then you are clearly not 4 weeks. I don't even think most people would see anything at four weeks at all. In fact, most doctors won't even look for something until the middle of the 5th week because your betas need to be over 2,000 to see anything at all. So why would they be telling you that you are only 4 weeks?
Usually on the 5th week you can see the sac and then some embryo, and then mid-six weeks you can usually see a heartbeat, but then it can literally be a matter of hours too, as in one hour it is not there and two hours later it starts up.
Could you actually be early six week by any chance?
Hi Staci,
Not sure what's going on with the ultrasounds and measuring that far off...but as far as the blood behind the placenta goes...I had that after spotting dark brown then bleeding bright red during my 6th week. My MD diagnosed it as a Subchorionic hematoma/retroplacental bleed. They say that they are really common and usually clear up by week 20 or so. He originally told me to do what you're doing (no lifting, working out, sex, etc). I have a really physical job and I wasn't too keen with his "wait and see" attitude so I saw another MD who put me on bed rest for a week. I went back a week later and the bleed was a LOT smaller on the ultrasound and I had stopped bleeding which was a relief. She let me return to work, but told me to try to take it easy. So far so good...no bleeding...go back for another u/s in 2 weeks...praying that everything is okay.
Hope this info helps.
H&H 9 to you!
