How do you pick your polish?

I've been known to pick mine based solely on the name and how it relates to my mood. Ex: At my last pedi I was ripped at my father so I got the new OPI Sparrow Me The Drama.

I always pick the same colors - french manicure if I actually have my hands done, which is rare, and a burgundy or maroon for my toes. I'm boring though.

I really want to have my feet done in the next few weeks because it's getting harder to do it myself.

For me lately I have been choosing Essie Sand Tropez for my nails and then something a fun shade of red or pink for my toes, but I never really read the color names because I already take forever and a day to choose my toe nail color.

I don't get manicures, but when I paint my nails, I either use black, or whatever colour I have on hand that suits my mood. Since I only have like 6 bottles of polish, it keeps my choices fairly narrow.

I never have polish on my fingernails.  The nails are small and I keep them short or I scratch myself at night (need some of those mittens).  For toes I like dark colors: blues, purples, burgandy, black, etc.  I have a magenta color on my toes now, but have also recently had a crimson red, tan and sage green.  There is no real pattern.
