in Pregnant after a Loss
For those of you that had an u/s around 5 weeks and two or three days, what do you typically see? Anything besides the gestational sac?

    I had one at 5w1d and all we could see was the gestational sac.  My Dr was not at all concerned and said that she wouldn't expect to see anything else at that stage.  She said that you don't often see the yolk and definitely not the fetail pole until closer to 6 weeks, if not past.

    Thanks ladies. It is possible I could be around 5 weeks 3 days and the dr found the gestational sac and could point out where the yolk sac was starting to form, but he didn't tell me if he could actually make it out...I'm just holding onto that hope for now.

    I have a US scheduled for Friday morning and I will be 4W6D.  My OB told me that she hopes to see a sac (as long as my betas are over 1500) and really nothing else.  I am glad that she forewarned me so I am not expecting to see anything more.  FX for you that your LO keeps growing strong!

    Lauren - I just saw your post below.  I'm so sorry you had such a scary experience, and I'm sending loads and loads and loads of T&P for you and your little one!  I hope you just O'ed later than you thought and your little one is right on track!  Huge gigantic squishy ((((HUGS)))))

    i had an us at 6 days and hte hb was 103. but from what i understand at 5 weeks there is usually very little to see. hopefully they bring you back in a week to check again .

    I had one at 5w2d and saw the gestational sacs and yolk sacs.
    m/c 7/17/10
    Dx: MFI- 3% morph
    IUIs: Gonal-F + Ovidrel + b2b IUI= BFNs
    IVF with ICSI= BFP! EDD 11/25/11
    3/18- Beta #1 452! 3/20- Beta #2 1,026!! 3/27- First u/s- TWINS!
    Our twin boys arrived at 36w5d due to IUGR and a growth discordance

    FET: Medicated FET moved up to 5/23 due to ovulation
    Transferred a 6BB hatched blastocyst- genetically normal female embryo
    BFP! 5/28- 5dp6dt      
    6/1 Beta #1- 223! 6/3 Beta #2- 567!

    Last time around I saw a teeny tiny sac and that was it (oh and a humongous corpus luteum cyst).  The doctor performed that u/s, and that was at about 5w5d or so.  She was not very optimistic.  The next week (I think 6w4d or so) the super-awesome u/s tech did the sonogram and was able to find a flickering heartbeat with the more advanced u/s machine.

    positive for ANAs (1:40) with a speckled pattern
    MTHFR c677t mutation (heterozygous)
    *folic acid, baby asprin, Prometrium, acupuncture, Lovenox*
    BFP @ 9dpo 2.1.2012 || HCG = 8 : Progesterone = 19.2
    2nd HCG @ 11dpo = 40 || 3rd HCG @ 21dpo = over 5000!
