Ok, how many have done preschool graduation this season?

Fortunately, I didn't blubber like an idiot at the kids' little graduation ceremony today, but it was touch and go there for a while! The kids were all too stinkin' cute in their little homemade graduation caps. I almost lost it when the teacher got choked up saying good-bye to the kids. I don't know how they say good-bye to all those little cuties every year and send them off to kindergarten. God bless 'em!

And now, DS can hardly wait to start riding the bus to kindergarten. He is growing up too fast!!

DS#2 provided a little comic relief for me during the ceremony, though. He was babbling, "I not a big boy, I a baby."

  • I cried a bit and am sad she has to leave behind such great teachers and classmates. I just hope kindergarten is as enjoyable.

  • I didn't cry, which is a shocker.  But it was definitely a bittersweet moment.  I just can't get my mind around the fact that my little guy is going to start school.  It's a whole new beginning for him!

  • I didn't cry, but my DH, mother and ds teacher teared up a little when they asked my DS what he wanted to be when he grows up. He is response was a DAD.

  • I did not cry at graduation, although I was close, but I totally lost it the last day of school! We have to check the kids in and out and when I checked DS out I realized it was the last time ever! Then I got to his class and his teacher was crying and I was crying and it was a mess! I'm excited about next year, though. DS is ready, I'm getting there, lol!

  • Ours is tomorrow. I'm gonna cry. I just know it. I'm totally a crier...
  • Ours is coming up next week. It's bittersweet. It's exciting for him to go to kindie.
  • I don't think we have a formal graduation, but they did ask the parents to come and pick the kids up in the classroom on Fri, so I know they have something planned.  I can totally see myself losing it, saying goodbye to the teachers.  DD had the same class/teachers for 2 years in a row, so it'll be sad to leave them.
  • ours is June 17th and I just know I'm gonna bawl like baby because Michelle has been with this school for 3 yrs.  She's had the same assistant for 3 years.  They have been so wonderfully supportive with Michelle's learning disabilities.

  • I just did DD's Kindergaten graduation.  I wish I could PIP here (blocked from most photo hosting sites).

I teared up but managed to hold it in.   It was an adorable ceremony with the kids in a similar cap to what the HS seniors will have (we had to pay 10 bucks for it) and they even played Pomp and Circumstance....whaa!  My DD had on her smile the entire time (which made me smile and help hold in the tears!!)

    I can't believe I have a first grader!!

DS has his promotion ceremony tonight. He's moving up to PreK next year, so he'll still be in the same school. I don't know how next year will go down, but tonight I'm just looking for some cute!

  • Ours in June 6th and I fear I will be a mess. DD1 goes to preschool/daycare in the city that I work and has gone there with her friends since they were babies. She has developed some strong friendships and it will be so sad to say goodbye to them this fall because everyone will be going to different kindergartens :(

ETA: Yeah I am going to be a sobbing mess, I went back and read the responses and teared up just reading those! :......(

  • I haven't, but I get choked up just saying the words "My son starts kindergarten in the fall." He's still going to the same daycare in the afternoon, so none of that will change. I'll need some medication when he graduates from high school.
  • Ours got off on a wrong foot when the teacher tried to give a 10 minute opening speach that the 30 kids stading up front couldn't sit through much less my 3 yo and 1 year old watching.  Uhhh.....  We couldn't hear the speach or see the slideshow.
