I am just looking into this and I have discovered there are so many different brands and inserts, ect. Now I am overwhelmed! I am hoping you ladies can tell me what brand you are using or have tried and what your experience has been. I dont know what to buy, how much to buy, if it really saves money, etc. Can you help me out?? Thanks for your input!!!

  • Ditto pp.

And your tastes may change over time. The nice thing is, you can resell diapers that are in good condition and recoup some of your money.

  • I would recommend doing a diaper trial.  Jillian's drawers has one a lot of people recommend.  This will allow you to try a bunch of different kinds and see what you like and what fits your baby.

  • I love cloth!!  I used diaperpin.com as a resource when I started researching for DD #1, almost 4 years ago.  I use perfect size fuzzibunz as I like sized diapers because they are trimmer and pockets because then I can adjust the absorbency.  DD #1 was sensitive to suedecloth lining so I stuck with fleece linings.  80% of my stash is Fuzzibunz.  I have other off brand diapers that I have for fun prints like OBB and Preston's Pants.  We use come fleece BG one-size for night diapers as I can stuff them so she makes it through the night and I really don't care how big her behind is then.  It can be overwhelming, just figure out what will work for you.  I knew I wanted the ease of a one piece but the flexiblity of a pocket.  I started out by buying a variety of AIOs and pockets and then settled into what I liked.  You can buy used on a variety of sites to try out initially before deciding what the right investment is for you.  I for sure will save money in the end as I am using the same diapers for 2 children and will get some return on resale, initial investment is more.  Also look for deals on different sites, no need to pay full price.
