Pregnant after a Loss

First Internal Q?

I had my first internal yesterday............1cm dilated and my cervix is soft and forward (she seemed pleased with this).  I understand the soft and dilation, but what does it mean that it is forward?

I'm assuming this is just normal preparation.......?  Should have asked!  Roll on next week.

Also, how long should spotting go on after the internal?  I'm still seeing a bit of brownish discharge this morning?

Thanks
Sarah

Re: First Internal Q?

  • When you are pg, your cervix sorta bends up and out of the way.  As you near labor, your cervix will unbend and point downward.

  • The midwife also said my cervix was anterior and it was a good thing.

I had spotting off and on for almost 48 hours.
