My sister and her 6 kids will be 6 hours away for 3 nights in a few weeks. Of course, DH has to work.... I am contemplating going since we haven't seen them in almost 2 years. DH argues that we will see them in July - only 1 more month away.
I am almost positive that DD3 will be a bad rider. I am planning to talk to 2 neighbors to see if there is any posibility of taking one of their daughters to help out (they are both 12). We have a lot of car activites for the big girls, I am just not sure about the baby. It's usually DH's job to drive and mine to occupy the kids.
My sister plans to tent camp ~ I am really not sold on that idea. At least not for 3 nights. Maybe 1 or 2 then get a hotel to rest up!!
WWYD? Would you go? Go with a helper if possible?
Re: Traveling alone?
I travel alone with my kids all the time. I don't mind at all. It is almost easier than having DH along, since he is more particular about their behavior and is a bad sleeper. I am taking my kids camping mid week next week with a friend while DH works. I took them twice last summer and to Charleston for 2 weeks to visit family. I took a friend without kids a few times and that was nice, but I took another friend and her DD the summer DS was about 3 months old, and it was a disaster (mostly due to the friends DD tormenting my DD and her mom's "only child" sort of response to the behavior.
I would go in a heart beat, but I love to camp :-)
