We're staying in town this weekend, and DH suggested taking DS downtown one day so he can ride the Metro (DS LOVES trains). Any suggestions on fun and 2-year old appropriate activities or events?
when DS was 2, his absolute most favorite thing in the world to do was take the subway to the airport and watch the planes take off and land. we did this on rainy days and could spend 2 hours just sitting there watching the planes action!

We were thinking about going to the Nats game on Sunday or Monday (both 1 o'clock games).
DH was trying to find someplace that had fireworks to take DS to.
Thanks for the heads up!! It totally didn't even occur to me about Metro work, even though it's consistently a pain!
It looks like DH's friend has extra tickets to the Nats game on Monday, so I think we'll do that. Anyone know if it's "stroller friendly"? I would think not, but the thought of dealing with DS sans-stroller for that long, in that kind of environment, makes me nervous!

They have a stroller check (like a coat check) by the main gate.
Re: What to do this weekend??
Whatever you do, I'd just try to avoid the areas where Metro is doing work this weekend.
