I am still "doing" Weight Watchers even though I am 8 weeks pregnant.
Before you begin throwing rocks at me, let me explain. I am NOT restricting my food intake. I am also going over the points allotted each and every day, and have gained about 2.5 lbs so far since becoming pregnant.
Last time I was pregnant I gained 20 lbs the first trimester and I was miserable about it. I ended up gaining 60 lbs total. I know how easily I gain weight during pregnancy, and how hungry I become. I have just been using the WW calculators as a guideline for portion control and to help me make healthier choices, and also because I like a lot of their recipes. I am not eating their "diet" food & I don't deny myself food when I am hungry and need a snack. I am just trying to be smarter about my choices.
But I do feel guilty about the fact that I am "using" WW, and have not discussed it with DH.
So you know that I am not starving myself, today I have eaten or packed to take with me to work:
A fiber one pop tart and a glass of skim milk (my usual breakfast, pregnant or not)
1/4 cup of Ricotta cheese with a little bit of vanilla flavoring
1 piece of flat bread with 1/3 cup of roasted red pepper hummus
Chiobani Greek Yogurt
Sugar free Applesauce or Mandarin Oranges, not sure which I want yet
When I get home, I plan to have the other piece of flat bread, toasted with melted cheese
And for dinner, I am making a WW shrimp recipe over broccoli and rice noodles.
I also end up eating a bit of what my son is snacking on, like Veggie Straws, Goldfish, Teddy Grahams--- my goal is to fill myself up on healthier foods so I am not ravenously digging into his snacks.
Re: Who is "watching" what they eat?
Ick, sorry you aren't feeling well. If I had M/S, all bets would be off. I can't blame you.
If by "watch" you mean watching myself shovel in whatever appeases my cravings...
But seriously, I am trying to get some variety in my diet now that I'm pregnant. We're intentionally leaving healthy snacks around the house for me to devour. I could be doing better, but I am trying. >.<;

This! But I will say that I normally eat like that menu of food you listed and my OB told me I needed more protein. So, I try to focus on adding some sort of protein wherever I can.
I have been majorly craving poultry lately and having chicken for dinner most nights. Just making the shrimp tonight before it goes bad ;-)
I stopped WW before my BFP. I was counting calories for a couple weeks in between in a effort to loose the last 10-15lbs. Now, I am still working out at the same intensity but eating more than usual.
I made the decision to eat healthier over a year ago and have been sticking with it since then. I am hoping that I will be able to continue eating healthy throughout this pregnancy as well.
Did you switch your WW to maintaining? I think if you ate at the maintaining level plus a little extra in there you would be good. Just my two cents.
I actually told it that I was breastfeeding because I figured that would give me the extra calories that I needed. I actually did do it while I was bfing DS and it gave me so many points I had a hard time finishing them each day... so I figured that would be good. Is maintaining different?
I think as long as you don't get overly obsessed about weight gain and are still eating an appropriate amount of calories and getting enough calcium, you're ok. THere are books out there on eating right for pregnancy.
Like PPs said, I'm eating whatever sounds good to me. I have m/s as well so I eat what I can. I gained 35 pounds with my first pregnancy and I did Jenny Craig to lose it and it was fairly easy to lose it that way, so I fully plan on signing up again after I have the baby.
This! I am watching all that food enter my mouth!

I am counting calories still on livestrong.com, but I am counting them to maintain my weight rather than lose. Some days I don't get enough and don't feel like I can eat as much as I should and some days like yesterday (and I think today will be the same) I go over. I still have about 30 lbs to lose so there is no need for me to gain any weight if during my first tri (although I am ok with it if I gain a few). I am trying to still eat healthy and work out, but working out has been a struggle with my nausea and exhaustion. I am still able to get in some pretty good ones about 4 days a week and I have to do physical therapy exercises everyday at the very least for a knee injury.
I also try to make good decisions about what I eat, but it has been harder. I have always tried to get 100 grams of protein daily and it has really been a struggle. My body just isn't a fan of much protein right now. All I seem to want are carbs.

I'm not really watching what I eat in terms of counting calories or anything like that, but I am trying to make healthier choices and add in more fruits and veggies than I ate pre-pregnancy.
I want to make sure the baby gets the right nutrients and such, and I'd like to try not to gain an excessive amount of weight...we'll see lol.
I just joined babyfit this morning. So far I've gained about 2-3 pounds. I know in part it's because that's what happens when your pregnant. But it's also in part because my husband has been tempting me with ice cream and other yummy foods. I lost about 20 pounds counting calories, so I'm used to entering all of my foods and fitness in the system. I just like to know when I should enjoy my treats and when I should feel guilty about them
I'd really like to aim for the 25-30 pound weight gain my NP recommended (although I won't beat myself up if I go over).
