3 More Days....

...and I am on summer vacation/maternity leave! Hallelujah! This school year was absolutely exhausting being pregnant for most of it. I am sooooo happy we have an early July due date because I have a few weeks off school to rest before LO's arrival, and an extra month built into my maternity leave. I can't wait to be off work and just be able to relax and focus on preparing for LO. Plus, the doctor ordered me to spend time in the pool because of my low fluid levels, so I can't wait to get some pool time starting next week!

I am curious though, how does time in the pool help fluid levels?

Who knows. I thought it sounded wacky...but according to my doctor, submerging your stomach in a pool or bath (plus drinking tons of water) can keep your fluid levels stable. I guess it helps absorb extra fluids in through your skin.Once they are low, they can't really increase, but you can help keep them from getting lower. They are also monitoring me closely to make sure they don't get to a dangerously low level, at which point I would have to induce. I can't quite get my belly submerged in the tub, so the pool will have to do. Luckily it's hot as can be here and the pool feels amazing on my sore, aching body. It really feels great to have that extra weight lifted off for awhile. I have the best doctor and I absolutely trust her, so I'll go with whatever she says!

Woo hoo!!!! I am dreading my desk job lately but luckily my boss is very understanding and will likely let me work from home where I am more comfortable when I need to. I don't know how you have done it being in AZ where it's so much more hotter. It's barely warm in WI and I am dying most of the day! I am envious of your pool prescription

I am from Indiana, but I have lived in Phoenix for 4 years, so my body has adjusted to the heat. Usually I am okay until it gets over 110, and then I hate it, but being pregnant I have found my heat tolerance to be more like 95...which it has been now for the last 3 weeks or so. Thankfully we have had a couple of random days where temps have dropped backed down to the 80's which has helped me survive being on my feet all day, but I know it's only a short time before we are over 100, and then I will not leave the AC or pool since I will not be working thank goodness.
