  • Just finished re-reading The Hunger Games (young adult books but the series is my guilty pleasure!) and have started The Witching Hour by Anne Rice.

Fallen by Lauren Kate.  I think it's more meant for teens (think Twilight) but it's pretty good so far.  It's about a girl in a reform boarding school and she doesn't know how her boyfriend died, they were at a vacation house together when there was a fire.

I also just downloaded Water for Elephants.

I'm OBSESSED with Twilight and I'm 27. Don't judge. Embarrassed

No judgement here!  I'm already planning my first outing with the baby by going to Breaking Dawn in November Embarrassed

  • I tried reading Girl with a Dragon Tattoo but gave up on it about 100 pages in. I just couldn't get into it. I'm not one to usually give up, but I did. I've since heard keep reading by around page 100 you'll be hooked, so I may try it again this summer. I wouldn't classify this book as a "beach read", but maybe others would. When I think beach read, I think an easy, mindless, fun read!

I'm currently reading Night Road by Kristin Hannah. So far I really like it, I like all of her books that I've read so far.

For bookclub we just read Room by Emma Donoghue. It was an interesting read, but took a bit to get into.

I do love my Kindle and excited that PP said they will be connected with the libraries soon! Love free books!

  • I love easy beach reads and got started on the Percy Jackson series.  I'm currently on book 3 and think they're extremely enjoyable.

Right now I am reading "The Girl That Played With Fire" but you have to read "The Girl WIth the Dragon Tattoo" first and then the final one is "The Girl That Kicked The Hornets Nest". The first few chapters of the first book are a bit slow and boring but seriously stick with it and it gets great! I am 1/2 way through the 2nd book and its only been 2 days! I love them!

The Help is also wonderful. Read that last year and I loved it. They made it into a movie that will be out in Aug I think. I always suggest reading the books first.

I loved the first two of the girl series but couldn't bring myself to finish the third...I got about half-way through and was too bored to finish.

LOL - no judgement here...I kinda am obessed too!  I just started reading them during this pregnancy so I'm not sure if that has anything to do with it.  I'm in the middle of New Moon.  I have yet to see any of the movies though.  I also have Water for Elephants and Lost Symbol (Dan Brown) waiting for me.  I've been wanting to read the The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo books as well.

  • I'm currently reading One of our Thursdays is Missing by Jasper Fford.  It's a series and this is the 5th.  I've read all the previous books at least 2x.

I also have on my book shelf Battle Hyme of the Tiger mother (just curious).

Ok now don't judge but, I just finished Mommywood by Tori Spelling and it was really good! It's not going to win any awards but it's fun brain candy and she has some interesting thoughts on motherhood.  So after reading that I am reading her next one, Uncharted Territori and am looking for her first book StoriTelling.

  • I just finished reading Save Me by Lisa Scottoline.  It was sad with the little girls in the book but the Mom and heroine was really amazing.

  • I'm reading Iron House by John Hart.  It's described as a thriller, and there's some mobster action thrown in... I'm over 100 pages in and TBH I'm still not exactly sure where it's going.  lol  Not my typical read, but I work in publishing and if something looks interesting I'll grab it off the shelves.  I've come across some great finds that way.

  • I just finished the Girl with the Dragon Tattoo series, and now I'm reading Lolita (Nabokov) and The Enchantress of Florence (Salman Rushdie).  I didn't have time to read all of the books I wanted to while I was finishing my degree (kind of ironic, considering that it was an English degree), so I'm excited to be able to read for fun again, and not have to write papers on assigned books every weekend!

  • I'm rereading the Harry Potter series.  I'm almost done with Chamber of Secrets.

I was thinking about starting the same post! I love to read...I'm a total book nerd :)

Currently I'm reading Water for Elephants. I LOVED The Help and can't wait for the movie this summer. The Girl Who Played With Fire was my favorite out of the 3 books. As for Jodi Picoult, I tried her new book but couldn't get past the 1st 10%. It was too hard to read being pregnant.

I would love to hear what others are reading! Always looking for new books.

I feel the same way about her new one! I bought it, read a few chapters, found out I was pregnant and haven't picked it up in over 2 months!! But I'm excited to get some new books for the summer...

  • Another series I really enjoy is the Stephanie Plum series by Janet Evanovich. One for the Money, Two for the Dough et cetera. A little mystery, romance and a lot of humor. Total beach/easy reads.
