I have EP from the beginning, but have recently been having a hard time. I have barely been keeping up with their demand and only have 3 bags of milk left in the freezer... I have recently started to do an extra pump a few hours after they go to bed at night, but even with that I can barely keep up, though i think that is what is keeping me from having to go into the last of my freezer stash.... Do I need to start feeding them more solids or something or maybe start pumping every 2-3 hours like I was in the beginning? Any help would be appreciated. TIA
Re: Any EP's ?
I wish I could give you more feedback, but I wanted to let you know that I know how you feel. I started taking Mother's Milk tea today and I am hoping for some good results. You can see it on Amazon and the reviews are really good.
Good luck!
I EP for my twins for a year..I took fenugreek and blessed thistle to increase my supply. I also drank mothers milk tea.. my LC suggested that I try domperidone.. all of these things helped but there were still times where I needed to supplement with formula and I didn't feel too bad about it because they were still getting BM and I knew I was giving them the most that I could!
Towards the end, I rented a hospital grade pump because my supply dipped and I was worried about reaching my goal.. if you are interested, feel free to read my review on Ameda's Platinum pump: https://mommynewsblog.com/ameda-platinum-hospital-grade-breastpump-review/
I started cereal at 4 months, veggies at 5 months, and fruit at 6 months..putting the babies on solids helped a lot but that is a personal decision so do what you are comfortable with!
how many times are you pumping a day and for how long? I was pumping 8-9 times a day for about 15-20 minutes.
let me know if you have any other questions!
My boys were also in NICU for 6 1/2 weeks and were never able to latch... so do you do the 10 on 10 off thing every time you pump? or how many times a day? I would like to try this!
I have always only pumped after every time they eat so recently I have only been pumping 4x's a day, though now it's been 5 x's since I started putting in an extra pump after they go to bed at night /
