anatomy scan didn't go as well as i hoped...had amnio

So we found out at our anatomy scan yesterday LO has a choroid plexus cyst on the brain.  Although docs were positive that most likely everything is ok it completely freaked me out b/c of our past.  We lost DS  #2 @ 32wks to most likely a chromosome abnormality.  Yesterday brought back so many unwanted memories of worry and dread etc...We opted to have the amnio b/c of our past and what we went through w/ DS # 2. 

The needle hurt when it went in but once it was in it was ok.  However LO moved so she had to remove the needle and she didn't get as much amniotic fluid as she needed but she said it should be enough for the testing.  ugh.  IT was a stressful day and i just wish we would have had a better outcome.  Now once again, we sit and wait in worry.  We just pray everything is ok w/ LO.

I am so sorry for this extra added stress!  From what I recall, these sorts of cysts often resolve on their own.  ((Hugs)) and T&P for great amnio results.

I'll get the FISH results in 3-5 days and the final results in 7-10days.  I'm praying we get the 1st round of results before this weekend.

I'm sorry you've had some stressed added to your already hard journey. I know lots of doctors say not to worry about this finding, but we all know the worry that comes with PGAL. FX that your results are normal.

I'm sorry that the scan wasn't 100% stress free.    They found a different "soft marker" with our little girl at our anatomy scan; when I was doing research on her findings, I came across this website:

I remember it being overall really reassuring, but I can't recall that for sure.  Don't know if you want to look into it more (or if that would just stress you out more), but I figured I'd at least put it out there for you.

My understanding is also that the vast majority of these "soft markers" aren't anything to worry about when there aren't any other indications of a problem.  But, of course, that doesn't help as much when you're PgAL & used to being on the sucky side of statistics (& especially with your history).    

Wishing you fantastic, perfect amnio results ASAP!!!  You & your family are definitely in my thoughts!!!   

P.S.  Did you decide to find out LO's sex?
