Sample birth plans

We're planning on a home birth come July, but need to write up a Birth Plan in case of a Hospital Transfer.

Does anyone have any good resources for sample birth plans for a Hospital Transfer (or willing to post your own)?

Not much help here, but does your MW not offer you a template?

My MW gives you a template to write a birth plan for home or the birth center and on the back you provide info needed in case of transfer - for example, what hospital is closest, what doctor you would like to see if you have one, any allergies you have, etc.

To be honest, I don't see the point in doing a birth plan specifically for hospital transfer because at that point there would be some specific reason (mainly an urgent / emergency situation) and no one would have time to even consult a birth plan.  KWIM?

I absolutely think there is still a need. You can still put in requests. For example, if it is an emergency c-section your birth plan could indicate that you'd like the double layer stitching. Another example, how the baby is handled/treated after the birth - there are a myriad of things to consider on this front.

OP: Sorry I don't have a template to offer you, I'm just now working on mine as well. My MW gave me a very basic template which includes a few things about my home birth (all stuff she already knows, but still) as well as stuff like which hospital I'll transfer to in case of emergency and who I'd like with me, etc. But I'm also going to be brainstorming out loud with my mom and looking online to make sure I cover the things that are most important to me.

I'm agreeing with this poster.  My DH and MW will accompany me if there is a transfer and they will be the ones who will need to advocate in my behalf.  I don't think a piece of paper they may not have time to read is going to make a difference.  For example I don't want LO getting the eyedrops.  I don't think putting that in my birth plan would help esp since it's so routine.  DH and/or my MW would be expected to watch what they are doing with LO and speak up regarding our requests.

A simple piece of paper might be enough to help you and your DH and anyone else involved to remember your wishes in the event of an emergency or transfer, when emotions are high and things go from being planned and organized to unplanned and crazy.
