Anatomy Scan Question

Ladies who have been there and done that, in addition to myraid measurements of LO, do they (or can they) also check your cervix during the scan?

(Because I fear IC even though I have no history that would indicate a problem.  Color me super paranoid.)

For me, they did a quick cervix measurement during the u/s. I wouldn't have even noticed if it wasn't for me asking what she was doing every.single.time.

I have one done at every u/s

Not sure if that's just protocol for my practice or what - I do not have a history of IC or anything to indicate a potential problem.

Yes, they measured mine and I have no history of problems there.  They even broke out the vag-cam to get a better look at my placenta, so I really felt they were checking everything during the appointment. I would ask your u/s tech about it, too just to be sure. Hope everything goes smoothly for you!

To my knowledge she didn't check mine at my a/s (I was really preoccupied with the potential DS issue so I may have missed her doing a quick check), but I know the tech at my NT did.  I would think its possible as long as the bambino isn't blocking the view.

They checked mine at the scan we had at L&D and the Level 2 we had to go to afterwards. The only reason I know is because she told me. I had no idea what it was and it looked like more placenta on the screen.

Thanks, ladies.  I remember that they looked at the NT, but that was 8 long weeks ago...so I planned to ask about it on Friday during my a/s but was not sure if it was "standard" (looks like there is some variability among practices from the responses, but I am hoping they can check if I ask).

They checked mine at my anatomy scan and growth scan.

At every US I've had they've been able to comment on my beautiful cervix

They measured mine at both of my a/s and I have no history of IC.  I was nosey the whole time though and asked what she was measuring constantly so she told me when she was measuring my cervix.  If they don't measure it or mention that they are measuring it, I don't think it would hurt to ask.  Its all in the same area and won't take them that much longer to get the measurement.

I am sure it is the prettiest cervix in town. 

I think I am being extra hyper (not that my normal level of hyper isn't bad enough) as Friday gets closer, and I start to think...and think...and think...

Yup!  I'm not high risk and have no known history of IC or related issues, but they checked it at my scan as well.  I believe at the place I went to it's one of the things they need to look at in order to sign off on your scan.  I was "fortunate" enough that I got the dildo cam because LO was in the way during the scan.

And like pp I also got a comment on how beautiful and long my cervix was

They did for me, but it was specifically asked for by my doctor and mentioned when the scan was scheduled. I actually had two CPT codes that I had to get authorized - one for the anatomy scan and one for the cervical length check. GL!

My MFM is checking my cervical length at 16 weeks and then at my a/s. I don't know if that's standard for twins or just standard for the MFM.

Mine did a peek at cervix today. Said that since my measurements were so so good they won't check it again....... I guess it just depends on your doc. I haven't had any probs in that department but for them it was just standard. GL!
