Pregnant after a Loss

Your thoughts?

So I just got my BFP a couple of days ago and I haven't been to see a doctor or mid-wife yet.

I've been POAS every morning for three days now and yesterday's was the darkest line, but this morning it was pretty faint.  That being said, the test was an internet cheapy and the cap was broken and wouldn't secure...  So I drank a butt load of water and took another test this morning that was a little darker, but still quite faint.  I'm hoping I'm still okay, because my BBT was higher than ever this morning, which I'm hoping is a good sign.

I guess I just need to get this off my chest.  I keep waiting for the floor to give out beneath me with this pregnancy and I hate feeling that way.  I still have all my sort of symptoms (sore boobies, fatigue) and no bleeding.  Am I just making a mountain out of a molehill?

I also have a routine pap smear tomorrow.  will they be able to tell if everything is okay?

  • First put the pee stick down. After you get a positive, remember that," today you are pregnant, and love it." Also the levels of doe can vary on different test. That won't be able to tell you much at your appt unless you are having betas done.

All of this.  They will have to do blood tests to know if you betas are doubling but maybe you can ask for those tests at your appt?  Good luck!!

  • I know what it's like to have the obsession of POSs.  I did until like 21dpo and then the test line was finally darker than the control line, I had 2 beta results back, so I finally stopped.

But one thing I highly suggest--do not pee with different kinds of tests--they all use different dye/amount of dye.  Plus, when you drink a lot so you can pee again, it will dilute your pee.  So only use FMU.

I don't think a routine pap smear will be able to tell you anything.  I actually opt out of pap smears while I'm pg.  Just a personal preference.

Are you getting betas checked or anything?

I'm going to ask my doctor tomorrow if we can get some blood work done, but I haven't seen a doctor yet.  I have such a bad taste of doctors in my mouth from my m/c and the way it was so insensitively handled by the DB5000 I went to confirm it with.

  • Drop the sticks and the thermometer!  I know the wait is really hard, but with symptoms and no bleeding, that's the best you can hope for until you see your doctor.
