Unexpected First Ultrasound

Sunday I had a lot of cramping going on still, and I felt like hot garbage allll day. Around 7:30 PM, I stood up to go pee for the millionth time, and I got really dizzy. We're talking tunnel vision, sounded like I was underwater dizzy. I laid back down for a bit, and kept trying, but the dizziness wouldn't go away, and seemed to be getting worse, so DH decided it was time to take me to the hospital. My blood pressure had dropped to 88/45 by the time we got there. They put me on IV fluids immediately, and told me they were going to do an ultrasound, fearing any complications such as a ruptured ectopic pregnancy causing internal bleeding.

an ultrasound, 3 bags of IV fluid, and 5 hours later everything seemed to be doing a little better!. I'm still dizzy today, but not nearly as bad, they are just writing it off as a symptom to my pregnancy, and I was told to get a ton of rest, and drink even more fluids than I have been drinking already to try and shake the dizzy feeling. If it doesn't go away with me taking it easy, then they are going to investigate further and see if there are any alternative ways to treat it.

The U/S showed one baby, and we got to hear a faint heartbeat. I'm relieved that everything is good in that department! I'm measuring right on schedule, and my next OB appt will be on June 8th! We are hoping for a good strong heartbeat

Yeah for a good ultrasound.  I am sorry that you are going through the horrible symptoms.

Wow that must have been scary. I'm glad everything seems to be okay! Was that your first ultrasound? My appointment is June 8 too. Here's to us both having strong heartbeats and good ultrasounds!

That was indeed the first ultrasound. My first one was supposed to be that June 8th appt.

Wow!  I'm glad everything on your u/s was good, but I'm sorry you're going thru such nasty symptoms.  Maybe if we average our BPs we'll get a normal one   Mine has been sky-high the last two OB visits, which is very uncharacteristic for me.

  Let's try it! lol

Sorry you've been so dizzy.  I've only been slightly dizzy.  But yay for ultrasound and getting to hear the heartbeat!!  Glad everything looked good in there.

Glad everything is ok with the LO, but being that dizzy isn't fun.
