This is the only boy name my husband and I can agree on at this point. It would be Garrett Dutch (Dutch is after my grandpa, so no mean comments, my grandpa rocked!) I don't want something super popular but not totally off the wall either. I think this fits this category but please let me know if I'm wrong. Is Garrett getting popular?
Re: Garrett
I like it. I don't think it's overly popular, I don't think it's obscure- it's just a nice solid name. I like the double r, double t spelling. My aunt spelled my cousin's name that way and doesn't have a lot of spelling issues. A friend spelled her son's name Garret and complains that it's always spelled wrong.

Nobody has ever called my cousin Garrett "Gary". Just Gare-bear.

I have a cousin Garrett and have always thought it was a really cool name. He has never gotten called Gary (although his dad is Gary). His nn was mostly G-Man, which again is super cool if you ask me.
I like Dutch too. It's very unique and makes the name sound solidly masculine.
I like it (and since my father's name is Gary I thought I might use it in the future to honor him)... HOWEVER, both dh and I have red hair and he brought up the unfortunate nickname "Garrett Top"
OMG are we related, my cousin is Garrett and his dad is Gary LOL. I love the name and my cousin has never been called Gary.
