I think Ella broke her nose today :(

For some reason she decided to climb on the counter to get a snack out of the cabinet. She fell face first off and landed on her nose. It bled but she did not lose conciseness or anything. It is really swollen now and she has two black eyes and her nose is purple. 

Should I call the Dr? I know they can't do anything for a broken nose and she is acting fine now. I checked her teeth too, no blood and no chips, bruising, etc. It happened around noon.

Better safe than sorry, and you want to make sure it heals straight. I would call.

When N broke his I called and they pretty much told me I could take him to the ER but they wouldn't be able to do anything for it.  I actually called again the next day just to make sure they didn't need to see him and they said only if I wanted them to.  So, I saved the co-pay.  It healed fine.  I think if it looked crazy disfigured or something I would have taken him in, but it was just bruised and swolen. 

now I'm going to look for my phone so I can text you back.

Call my DD BFF broke hers last year & they wanted to see her & they also ended up having to do surgery on her a few months later after all the swelling went down.  Good luck hope it is not serious.

I spoke to the nurse and we are just doing a wait and see approach. There is nothing they can do at this point - if once the swelling goes down it looks disfigured(which I don't think it will) then they'll order an xray. She said our pedi would gladly see us in urgent care tonight if we wanted the reassurance, but to me that would be silly....and a waste of a co-pay. Thanks for all the advice!
