questions for child care provider?

i put in ad in craigslist for care for our girls in our home 1 day per week. any suggestions for questions to ask? i said non-smoker, experience with preemies, ability to multi-task (twins!) and references. not sure what to ask when i speak to her. because she'll be coming in our home, i need to feel secure in her being there all day.

If you talk to her on the phone, just have her tell you about her experience, and ask the basic questions like if she smokes. Also, ask what she envisions as a typical day with infant twins and how she would deal with both crying at the same time. But I really think the absolute best way to hire a nanny is to have them come to your house and watch them interact with the babies. You'd be looking for someone who washes their hands before picking up a baby without being asked. Someone who is comfortable holding and interacting with the babies, you want them to make eye contact and talk to the babies, and just to be warm and loving with them.
