I would ask what they mean by "negative". Under 25? Under 5?
I would also wonder if there was a lab error.

I told them about the home tests and they said that I was still super early. They said they normally don't even do blood draw this early on base, but want me to come in after my missed period. She said I was more than welcome to keep taking the home tests to see if the test line darkens.
ETA: This is a qaulitative test, it only tells them yes or no on base. To get it down to numbers, I'd have to be referred off base.

I have heard that HPTs can detect pregnancies earlier than blood tests. What did the doctor say? At 10 DPO, it could still be too low to be considered +. I know it's very rare to get a false positive, so I hope it's just too early.
I think I'd call and clarify what the detection limit is on the blood test. Probably would ask if there would be a follow-up test in a couple days to re-check.
My first thought was to say to give it time. You're only 10DPO, so there's a good chance that your levels may still be below the detection levels on the not-so-sensitive tests.
I'm hoping that I'm just super early and the blood test couldn't pull the HCG. They are having my go in Tuesday for another draw. Monday they're closed.

I wouldn't worry yet - I'm pretty sure the detection limit on those qualitative tests is 25 so you are probably just below that limit. I think digital tests are higher limit so you could always test with one of those in a couple days to make sure it will register before getting poked again... or request quant tests off base.
Its weird they do the qual test... the lab my bloodwork goes to doesn't even offer qual hcg anymore. But I'm sure its probably a cost savings for the military. T&Ps that your next one comes up +!

I'm with the PP, I wouldn't worry yet. I will say that they *should* be able to do a quantitative test on base. I was seen on an Army base with my 1st DS and they were able to do both the qualitative (yes/no) and quantitative (numbers) tests.

I agree with PP, it doesn't sound like something to worry about right now. 10dpo is so early, a few days will make a big difference. I also never got to tell you congrats, so CONGRATULATIONS! I hope that you have a very happy and healthy nine months.

This - what does your practice or lab consider negative?
My first beta was 4, which is "technically" considered negative (<5) according to my OB's practice and most other guidelines.
Are they planning to do another draw?
