Re: Roll Call and Poll
1. Were you on this board during your pregnancy or just since LO has been born? I was on the board a lot during the first part of my pregnancy, but things got crazy at work towards the end so I wasn't on very much during 3rd tri and hadn't posted at all since LO was born until yesterday. But I miss this board and 3-6 moves way too fast for me to keep up with. I like the idea of having a smaller group so I'm hoping we can get this board going again.
2. When/How was LO born? (before due date vs. overdue, CS vs vaginal birth, induced, etc? I was due 1/31 and had a scheduled CS on 1/22 (DD1 was a CS and I opted for a repeat CS rather than try for a VBAC). Liana was born at 8:00 AM and weighed 8lbs 9oz and was 21 inches long
3. Do you work full-time, part-time, or SAH? I SAH for now but will be going back to work (teaching) in Sept.
4. What is the best part of being a mom so far? I love baby smiles and the way her face lights up when she sees me. Also, seeing the sibling relationship between my two girls develop is the sweetest thing ever.
5. What is the hardest thing about being a mom so far? Balancing my time. Specifically finding time to keep up with the house and chores. I feel like my house is constantly a disaster, the laundry is out of control, we are always out of groceries, etc etc. No matter what I do I feel like I can never get ahead.
1. Were you on this board during your pregnancy or just since LO has been born? I had been on this board since the first trimester. I stopped posting right after I had LO since she was born 2 weeks early especially during the midst of the holidays.
2. When/How was LO born? (before due date vs. overdue, CS vs vaginal birth, induced, etc?) My EDD was 1/5/11 but LO was born on 12/22/10. I was induced naturally and I was in labor for a total of 5 hours. I had her vaginally with an epidural by 6cm.
3. Do you work full-time, part-time, or SAH? I'm a SAHM and a college student who is on break till the fall semester
4. What is the best part of being a mom so far? The unconditional love that I have for her. It's amazing how much she grows into my heart.
5. What is the hardest thing about being a mom so far? Besides being a first-time parent but having my first baby to have acid reflux. I think that was pretty much the hardest. I can go on hours without sleep but I would do anything to get rid of my LO's acid reflux.
1. Were you on this board during your pregnancy or just since LO has been born? I came on this board during 2 trimester...never really posted. I guess I was an admirer! lol
2. When/How was LO born? (before due date vs. overdue, CS vs vaginal birth, induced, etc?) Cooper was due on Jan. 8th...so he was overdue. I was induced on Jan. 10th, Cooper came Jan 11th at 7 38am via vaginal birth.
3. Do you work full-time, part-time, or SAH? Stay at home mommy and loving it!
4. What is the best part of being a mom so far? Baby smiles and giggles! Seeing all the new things hes learning! The constent love I feel from my baby.
5. What is the hardest thing about being a mom so far? hauling the damn carseat lol...no really the worring I guess. I never worried soo much about anything in my life.
Hello...cute poll!
1. I was on the knot for wedding planning and started bump during 1st pregnancy. I love this site and sisters sites as well.
2.Sophee was born on Jan. 10th and I had her without meds. I came to hospital fully dialated and ready to push. I pushed her out in 1 hour and 15 minutes.
3.I am a reading specialist, working full time.
4.I love being a mom. I enjoy watching Sophee change and see her experience something new each day. She is starting to giggle and laugh out loud now and that sound is the best!
5.Hardest thing so far in motherhood is making sure my marriage is not effected to much. I want to make sure I am being the best mom to Sophee, but also keeping my husband happy as well. I think we both do a great job of communicating to each and making time for "us" too.
1. Were you on this board during your pregnancy or just since LO has been born?
I've been on the board since about 11 weeks pregnant.
2. When/How was LO born? (before due date vs. overdue, CS vs vaginal birth, induced, etc?)
Alexandria was born 1/13 via scheduled c-section due to her being breech.
3. Do you work full-time, part-time, or SAH?
I work around my hubby's schedule so I work about 7-10 day a month as a massage therapist. The rest of the time I'm home with the girls.
4. What is the best part of being a mom so far?
I love being a mummy of 2 beautiful girls. My older daughter loves her baby sister and it's the most precious thing to see her kissing or hugging her.
5. What is the hardest thing about being a mom so far?
Having a 2.5 year old and a 4 month old has been challenging at times. The hardest was when she was first born and the power struggle my older daughter had with us. It's gotten better, but she still has her moments. Plus, she's going through the "terrible 2's". Sometimes I'd like to pull my hair out.
ETA: misread one ?? edited for clarification
1. Were you on this board during your pregnancy or just since LO has been born? I was on TTGP while we TTC and switched over to this board once I got PG. I posted more at the begninning of my pregnancy, but have followed the board at least occasionally the whole time.
2. When/How was LO born? (before due date vs. overdue, CS vs vaginal birth, induced, etc?) My water broke at 5:45am at exactly 37 weeks. I went about 12-15 hours with minimal contractions (despite trying all kinds of things), so had pitocin started at minimal dose. After that contractions got nasty and I ended up needing a dose of Nubain, but other than that no meds. DS was born 26 hours after my water broke and after 30 minutes of pushing. I did Bradley classes so was really aiming for totally drug free, but I'm happy with how it turned out.
3. Do you work full-time, part-time, or SAH? I work part time as a dietitian. I really wanted to SAH, but DH owns his own business, and we needed my health insurance. My request to work part-time was initially turned down, but two weeks before I came back from maternity leave the option to switch to a new position working 50% came up. I love being able to work part-time and still keep my health insurance.
4. What is the best part of being a mom so far? Getting to watch DS grow and change and learn all sorts of new things. It's fun to see how much he can change just in one day.
5. What is the hardest thing about being a mom so far? Finding time to get everything done. Working part time helps, but DS doesn't nap real well, so I find it hard to get cleaning/laundry done during the day.
1. Were you on this board during your pregnancy or just since LO has been born?
Was on the FEB 2011 board since LO was supposed to arrive in Feb and not Jan, LOL. Mainly on the 3rd tri board.
2. When/How was LO born? (before due date vs. overdue, CS vs vaginal birth, induced, etc?)
He came in unexpectedly a month early at 35 weeks. Vag birth and I pushed like hell too. My water broke and 6 hours later we ended up in the hospital with the nurse telling us he will be out in 24 hours or less. Gulp.
3. Do you work full-time, part-time, or SAH?
Work full time. Oh how I wish I could afford working part-time.
4. What is the best part of being a mom so far?
Seeing the smiles on my LO face each morning and evening when he sees me.
5. What is the hardest thing about being a mom so far?
Seeing my LO go through GERD. So sad.
1. Were you on this board during your pregnancy or just since LO has been born? I joined this board when I was pregnant.
2. When/How was LO born? (before due date vs. overdue, CS vs vaginal birth, induced, etc?) I was due on January 27th and delivered on January 20th. It was a vaginal birth, and I was induced after having contractions every 5 minutes for 3 days straight with no progress.
3. Do you work full-time, part-time, or SAH? I work full-time, and came back to work when DS was 10 weeks old. I was initially supposed to stay out for 13 weeks, but my manager begged me to come back early. She is very flexible with me, so I didn't mind at all.
4. What is the best part of being a mom so far? This is my second little one, and there are so many great points that I cannot just pinpoint one. My children are truly my joy. Every time I think I "don seen it all," one of them do something else that makes me love them all over again!
5. What is the hardest thing about being a mom so far? No sleep and finances. My kids are way more expensive than I could have ever imagined. It is worth it though.

5. What is the hardest thing about being a mom so far? She doesn't like to nap and is a little fussy in general. I get no 'me' time.

1. Were you on this board during your pregnancy or just since LO has been born?
Been here all along, but didn't post a whole lot during my pregnancy.
2. When/How was LO born? (before due date vs. overdue, CS vs vaginal birth, induced, etc?)
2 days early, vaginal, I was 7cm when I got to the hospital - she was ready to make her appearance!
3. Do you work full-time, part-time, or SAH?
SAH, I didn't think I'd like it this much, but it's awesome.
4. What is the best part of being a mom so far?
Knowing how happy I make her.
5. What is the hardest thing about being a mom so far?
Trying to block out other peoples' opinions/"advice". It gets annoying. Fast.
1. Were you on this board during your pregnancy or just since LO has been born? I started posting here right after BFP, before that I was on TTGP
2. When/How was LO born? (before due date vs. overdue, CS vs vaginal birth, induced, etc?) Everett came 2 days after his due date, med free vaginal birth
3. Do you work full-time, part-time, or SAH? I am an out of work RN, currently looking for a part time position
4. What is the best part of being a mom so far? The smiles that are reserved just for me. Also, seeing me in his face is pretty amazing!
5. What is the hardest thing about being a mom so far? Not sleeping for more than a couple hours at a time for 17 weeks. Worrying about EVERYTHING!
ETA: I have no idea what that gibberish is at the top and I cannot get rid of it!
1. Were you on this board during your pregnancy or just since LO has been born? I was on during my pregnancy, but I didn't post a lot. Still don't really.
2. When/How was LO born? (before due date vs. overdue, CS vs vaginal birth, induced, etc?) Garrett was born 2 weeks before his due date. I was induced due to high blood pressure and it was a vaginal birth. Despite all the horor stories I had heard about inductions and pitocin, his birth went pretty smoothly. The biggest issue I had was having to push for 2 hours because my epi was too strong and I couldn't feel anything. I told the dumb nurse I was feeling the urge to push and instead of checking me again, she called in the anesthesiologist and had them give me more epidural. When she checked me after, she was like oh, I guess you felt like you needed to push because you are ready to push. Dumb broad.
3. Do you work full-time, part-time, or SAH? Right now I work full time, but my husband is going to be transferred to another city in August so when we move, I will be a SAHM.
4. What is the best part of being a mom so far? It's so cheesy, but I really love everything about it. Much more than I thought I would. Even the sleepless nights. Most of the time.
5. What is the hardest thing about being a mom so far? The sleepless nights for sure.
1. Were you on this board during your pregnancy or just since LO has been born? I started posting here around Sept ?10 but was posting in 2T just at the beginning.
2. When/How was LO born? (before due date vs. overdue, CS vs vaginal birth, induced, etc?) My LO was born on Dec 28 in a snowpocalypse haha and she came about 10 days early on her own. I was able to go med free.
3. Do you work full-time, part-time, or SAH? I went back to work after three months off but I should have definitely stayed my full five to six months. I am off 1-2 weeks every month so that helps.
4. What is the best part of being a mom so far? Everything, LO has been such a great baby. I think it?s amazing to think DH and I created her. I love watching how fast she?s learning stuff (including how to be sneaky). And of course, her smiles, cuddles, snuzzling into my boobs haha, drooling, dressing up and matching, oh the list goes on.
5. What is the hardest thing about being a mom so far? Definitely worrying, leaving her every day, juggling time (I commute to work 1.5 hours using mass transit) and pumping, trying to keep up my supply with her, focusing at work, and spending time with DH. I am always so distracted with LO when she?s awake. She?s a great sleeper though so she takes her naps and sleeps through the night which allows me more time to get things done.
1. yes i was on here during pregnancy but more a lurker than a poster. Still am really. I try to be more active but I don't have time (except at work, oops!)
2. Simon was born the day before his due date. Came all on his own, vaginal birth at the hospital.
3. I work full time and I hate it, I begged DH last night to get a better job so I could stay home.
4. The love, for sure. I'll confess, I was really worried about having DS#2 because DS#1 had been the love of my life for 6 years. I didn't think I could possibly love another baby in the same way. But then he got here and POOF! I love him just as much and can't imagine life without him anymore.
5. The time constraints. Working full time means I only see the boys 3 hours tops on weekdays, and weekends are full of laundry and grocery shopping and what not (DH works weekends so it's just me and the boys and the chores). I know it's all a labor of love, but it is exhausting!
1. Were you on this board during your pregnancy or just since LO has been born? Never posted but I started coming here around 10 weeks.
2. When/How was LO born? (before due date vs. overdue, CS vs vaginal birth, induced, etc?) LO was born 9 days before due date. Vaginal delivery with an epidural that stopped working the last hour of labor
3. Do you work full-time, part-time, or SAH? I work part-time now but I'm currently looking for a full-time job.
4. What is the best part of being a mom far? The best part so far is watching him grow and learn how to do new things.
5. What is the hardest thing about being a mom so far? The hardest part is being away from him while at work even though I only work part-time. It makes me sad to think about what will happen when I find a full-time job.
2. My son was born on his due date, January 12th, Natural delivery
3. I'd love to go back part-time but I will likely go back to full-time
4. Absolutely everything about my son is the best, he is the greatest addition to my life:)
5. Not always knowing exactly what he needs at the exact moment, we all at better at this with time and as routines settle in but at first it can be hard.
1. Were you on this board during your pregnancy or just since LO has been born?
Was on this board during pregnancy (diff username GLASS913) but haven't started posting until recently
2. When/How was LO born? (before due date vs. overdue, CS vs vaginal birth, induced, etc?) AHHH. Eden was born on 1/27/11 13 days overdue! Was induced on 1/26 but did not dilate past 6cm... CS after what seemed an eternity
3. Do you work full-time, part-time, or SAH?
SAHM... needing/wanting something pt whether it's once a week or 3 hrs a day
4. What is the best part of being a mom so far?
Gosh, so hard to describe. I guess seeing my beautiful DD grow.. and seeing her gummy smile everyday. Feels good to see she is a happy baby :-)
5. What is the hardest thing about being a mom so far?
Hm... need lots of patience, lol.
Isn't this the life?!
1. Were you on this board during your pregnancy or just since LO has been born? Just since ds was born since he was due Feb. 10th! Our Jan date was very unexpected.
2. When/How was LO born? (before due date vs. overdue, CS vs vaginal birth, induced, etc?) He was induced at 34 weeks 5 days and then finally taken out by CS.
3. Do you work full-time, part-time, or SAH? I go back to work this coming week. Boo! I've been off for 5 months and will do the next 2 part-time.
4. What is the best part of being a mom so far? Just having my little boy. We worked very hard to have him!
5. What is the hardest thing about being a mom so far? The chronic worry about everything, from feeding problems to milestones to a million doctors appointments for all these things due to ds being a preemie with IUGR. Hopefully these are starting to ease up soon!
