Re: Interesting article for DOR ladies about blood type

  • I am O, and I am not clinically DOR. From what I know of blood types and biolgy, I have no idea why there would be a link to blood group and FSH. I am pretty sure that my parents are heterogygous for the (recessive) O allele, so I turned out to be O, though they are both A (which is dominant over O). I strongly suspect that if someone were to do a proper QTL study, they could come up with more reliable genetic markers for ovarian reserve. Anyhoo, as far as I can tell on pubmed, that presented data mentioned in this new piece was never published, so perhaps it did not pan out in the end.

I am O. I read that while we were TTC. Since it's the most common blood type (O+, I am O-) I think it could just be coincidence in some respects, you know?
    b/w=FSH 15.6, AMH 0.4 surprise natural BFP on 3/12/11

I'd say this - there are probably lots of things that correlate with a blood type O just b/c it's so common.

    I'm O+ and 40 with an FSH of 5.5.
