I was at a discount store today and saw a display of personalized barrettes. Some said "I'm 4!" or "Daddy's Girl," but most of them were names. Of course, I looked at the names, and it was easy to tell why they were in the discount store! Names on the pink, sparkly barrettes:
Diane
Tricia
Patricia
Donna
Barbara
Kathy
Cathy
Susan
Bonnie
Tammy
Lori
Janet
Tina
So, I guess the middle-aged woman who created these barrettes just went through her own high school yearbook looking for names. If you know a 3-year-old named Barbara (or a 50-year-old woman who would appreciate glittery hair accessories), I can hook you up.
Re: Personalized Barrette Fail
LOL!!
Those are awful for this generation.
Woow. I'm slow today. I was looking at the list going "what's so bad about that? They're all legit, and spelled right..."
Then I saw the part about how they're not exactly popular names for little girls these days.
I got it then.
I know a 10 year old named Barbara lol
I'll bet they don't usually get much love in the personalized trinket department. I was always sad that I could never find any keychains or pens with my name spelled correctly.

There's a bumpie on the SAHM board with a daughter who is maybe four or five named Barbara.
Maybe the barrettes are left over from the 70s.
Maybe the creator is trying to bring these names back.
She thought, "If people could just see 'Janet' and 'Donna' on a cute little pink bow, they would be able to picture a little girl with the name again. Then they would be more likely to choose one of these great names for their daughter, rather than something new, like Nevaeh or Addalynn."
(PS: Save me a Barbara! )
