Hi! My lo is 9 months old and I have noticed that certain foods give her some red splotches around her eyes but no where else.  She had it when I gave her apples and then I  took them away for awhile and now she seems okay but today I gave her cantoulpe and the same thing happened. Should I take it away or is this not that severe so its okay? Has this happened to anyone else?

    i would call your pedi today and let her know.  They may not want to do anything until your LO is 1 and just stay clear from them for now.  Sounds like your LO may be reacting to melons and apples which is a pretty common allergy.  I have a few friends that are allergic to apples but not cooked/baked apples.  

    Also, note that most sever reactions are at the second exposure.  My son first touched egg and nothing happened.  the second time he touched egg is when he went into a full ana reaction. Keep that in mind when you give your child something and she didn't react the first time. That's why doctors have you give the same food multiple times before going to the next.

     

    Also.. just thought of this.. does your LO rub/scratch her eyes after you give her melons/apples???
