Who else loves to read?

Love the idea of a January 2012 book club!

I love to read (and I also write fiction - short stories and novels). One of the books I always recommend is Hotel at the Corner of Bitter and Sweet by Jamie Ford. It's about a Chinese-American boy falling in love with a Japanese-American girl during WW2 and the internments and it's such a sweet, powerful story. Jamie Ford is a beautiful writer.

I read a lot of YA too - my guilty pleasure. Loved Libba Bray's A Great and Terrible Beauty and Suzanne Collins' The Hunger Games. Oh, and Book of a Thousand Days by Shannon Hale. There are just so many amazing YA books out there now - it's a much more diverse and exciting market than when I was a teenager 10 years ago!
