Two Under 2

My baby acts differently when DD1 is not around

Has anyone else noticed something like this?  DD2 is 7.5 months old and DD1 is 20 months old.  When DD1 is around, DD2 is invariably whining, complaining or crying.  Sometimes it's because DD1 is bothering her.  Other times for no apparent reason.  But when we have one-on-one time, she is like a totally different kid.  DH is at the playground with DD1 right now, and DD2 is having a ball on the floor, playing unhindered with all the toys.  No crying or complaining.

I think I might have a little manipulator on my hands ... Stick out tongue

  • Yep, totally! Owen seems to be much more content when Lil isnt around. When she is around he is incredibly whiny. She isnt the best big sister though...we are working on pushing, hitting and taking toys away from Owen still. I know this probably sounds bad, but I will be happy when he is able to stick up for himself a bit more. Poor kid:(

  • Yes! My DD2 does this too, and she constantly looks around to make sure DD1 is really not there, then she looks back at me, like, okay, she's gone, it's my turn right?
