Highchairs

I need a new highchair.  To be perfectly honest I didn't research the purchase well originally and the darned Graco junk we got is falling apart and I don't see it lasting much longer.

Rec me a high chair for infant to toddler, according to DH price is not a problem!

TIA!

Re: Highchairs

  • I really like our Space Saver (Fisher Price).  We do not have a very large kitchen so I didn't want a full size highchair.  Works great for us and will grow with him.  Also like that we can travel with it if need be.

I have washed the cover and straps and it came out great and the tray is easy to clean as well.

They have them at BRU, BBB, Target, and Walmart and they come in several different patterns.

  • We had a Fisher Price Jungle high chair that held up very well.  It still looks brand new after washing.  You might want to consider one of the boosters with a back that straps to a regular chair.  It grows with the child, and can be converted to backless. We put DD in one a long time ago, and it works so well.  I wish we had skipped the regular highchair.  Now we have a highchair/booster all in one.  It's a good thing.

  • We also LOVE our Space Saver (Fisher Price). I love that it is easy to wipe clean (thought taking the straps off to wash is a bit trickier but we didn't use the straps for very long), it is neutral and blends in nicely, and as the name may indicate, it doesn't take up much space ;)  The tray is easy to clean and can go right into the dishwasher. The back comes off so you can use it as a booster.  The one we have is a gift from my baby shower and we still use it 4 and a half years later (now as a booster seat but I put the tray back on it for messy art projects).
  • We love our FP spacesaver as well.

  • Looks like everyone loves their FP Space savers!  The irony is when DS2 was born I had bought one as a gift for a friend expecting at the same time because she had requested it.  Didn't even occur to me! LOL

Oh well I will probably get one for DS2 but eye-ing the Tripp Trapp for DD ;)

This too!  I love ours.  Cedric is using it as  booster now.  I love it for craft time.  I put paint in the cup holders and he fingerpaints all the time:)

  • Another great thing about the space saver...super easy to throw it in the trunk and take to family get togethers or out of town.
  • We have the Chicco Polly Chair.  I like that I can easily wheel it from the dining room to the kitchen or office area.  The downside is it's hard to clean.  There are two thick pads that are a pain to get on and off.  They are machine washable, though.  I still haven't figured out a good way to clean the straps.  I would recommend it because of its maneuverability and its budget friendly price.

A friend of ours has the same one, and she's using it on her 2nd son, and uses it for the kids she sits for, and it still looks pretty much like new.
