XP from 6-9 re separation anxiety and sleep for 8-mo old

For about a week now, DD is definitely showing signs of separation anxiety with me in the daytime. I'm a SAHM and with her all day, so when DH is home and I'm out of site, she's always looking for me, and very recently, will cry or fuss when I leave the room or when she's out of my arms. I went to the store yesterday (she was with DH) and she cried when I left (a first). She recovered within a minute, but this is new. Simultaneously, we've had the most disturbed sleep ever this week (almost nonexistent naps and up verrrrry frequently at night, and hard to console her back to sleep). As an absolute last resort, I brought her into bed with me (first time ever!), and I swear, my little constant waker slept better than she ever has! She would wake, snuggle into me, and put herself back to sleep (also a FIRST!). Is this common, and how do I not get sucked into the family bed long-term?! I gotta say, it's super easy and snuggly!

  • I know of a mom who went through the SAME exact thing with her lo (the no napping part). It lasted for a week according to her. Also, lo pouts when I leave the room too, but then he becomes interested in something else and forgets about momma. Hopefully the phase will pass soon, but your lo needs alone time with daddy.
