Question about blocking someone on FB

If I block someone who is currently a friend, do I stay in their friend list and they just don't ever see any new activity? Or do I go away from their friend list?

How do I do it?

They stay in your friend list but they can't see your wall posts (I think.)  I'm not sure how you do it though.

Are you blocking me?  Just want to be prepared. Wink

  • I'm on my phone so I'm not 100% on how to do it but I believe in your privacy settings you can edit and choose to customize your settings. At this point you can type in people individualaly. You will still be their friend but they won't be able to see anything you post.
  • If you use the Block function, it will actually make it seem like you don't have a profile at all to that person. They cant see your info, you cant see theirs. It's like you don't exist on FB. You do it by going to that person's page, and going to the bottom of the left hand column. Under their list if friends and widgets or whatever, there's a list that gives you options like Defriend and Block. You can click block there. If you want to be PC about it and fake them out, make a 'list' for that person and block them from viewing all activity. Less drama!

If that person looks at your page though won't they know you have blocked them from seeing all activity?

As someone who has been blocked, yes, they will know.

  • Thanks, gals. It wasn't any of you. It was my crazy-ass in-laws, who have caused more drama today than I am willing to deal with any more. If they want to keep up with us, they can see DH's page.

    Eff 'em.
