I am trying to cloth but we are having leaking problems and my husband is about ready to end the CD as he doesn't really like it anyway.

We are using AI2 and he seems to be a big wetter, but the biggest problem seems to be that when he wets the diaper the diaper is wet and leaks through to his clothes. Any suggestions anyone else have these issues?

If the diaper is completely soaked then I would add an insert to the diaper. I prefer hemp inserts to add more absorbancy for my diapers.

Can you be more specific to the type/brand of the AI2s? We love our fitteds with covers wool/PUL and have never had a leak.

The dipes are homemade and are bamboo or fleece lining, pul middle and cute fabric outside. Then I line with a double layer of hemp that snaps into the inside. What I'm finding is that the edge near the tops or the crotch area is getting wet and leaking through his clothes.

If you have boys do you have to point their penis a certain direction?

The thing w/WAHM AI2s is that they wick (the fabric from the clothes draws the moisture out - fleece helps prevent this, but is not fool proof). Because of this, you need to change more often. I would suggest getting some AIOs or AI2s that have a PUL outer or fitteds with covers. For example AIO/2 - BG elementals (we love these), Piddle Poddle cadillacs, Kissaluv marvels.

You can also throw a wool or PUL cover over your AI2s for going out and stuff. At home, you can use babylegs instead of pants (keeping the BL away from the diaper) and this will help prevent leaking.
