Orgasm...Yes? No?

Ok, I don't know if this is a dumb question, but everyone I talk to and every website I look at tells me something different....is it safe to have an orgasm while pregnant?  I've heard that you shouldn't have one after 20 weeks or so because it can send you into labor.  I kinda feel crazy for asking this...

From what I've seen, I think it's safe up until the 3rd trimester.  You should check with your doctor though as every pregnancy is different, and they can help you know when it isn't a good idea anymore for you.

I had plenty after week 20 with my dd, she was fine and about 10 days "early".  I think your doctor could have clearer answers as to the risks for you in particular, but I wouldn't worry too much about it now.  If it doesn't feel right, you'll know.  Listen to your body.

 When the time comes DTD can bring on labor faster, I heard from a midwife that DTD 3 times in 24 hours gives you just as much prostaglandin as Cervadil.

Yes, it's safe. Like a previous poster said, when you are closer to your due date sex can send you in to labor, but it doesn't usually happen until the end. As long as you don't have high-risk restrictions, you're fine.

Its safe right till you go into labor. Ive been preg. 4times. But once you get bigger you might find it either easier to have an orgasm or even harder, Ive had it both ways with my DDs. I know with DD#1 it was easier, but gave me muscle cramps in my back and stuff.....

Oh, I forgot to add that you can definitely keep having sex/orgasms after 20 weeks. You can have sex until the end of pregnancy.

Yes, you can orgasm throughout your entire pregnancy (unless your doctor has placed you on pelvic rest, etc.). For a lot of women, they are way better during pregnancy due to the increased blood flow. Pregnancy orgasms are awesome. Have fun.

I had my first pg orgasm this week.  It hurt like h*ll, like a charley horse in my uterus.  I was 'paralyzed' for what felt like forever before we could move.  I talked to my bff about this and it happen for her during pregnancy too, so I know nothing is wrong, but yeeeeeouch!

I have never heard that from any sorce-including my MW and OB from when I had DS #1 (and he's only nine months old now, so it's not like it was a long time ago.  I had them regularily and until the end in my last pregnancy and just try to stop me in this pregnancy!  If I can't have feta, wine, and beer, then there's no way anyone is making me part with the O's!

It's safe all the way through unless you're put on pelvic rest.
Something that happens in pregnancy often... Are dreams... I'll leave it at that ;-)
