Need your ladies help....
How soon would you get going on a lawyer for child support and custody when baby is due in September 2011. My BF just broke up with me and I'm due this fall. Can I take him to court before baby gets here or do I have to wait until after LO arrives. He says he doesn't want anything to do with the baby so I want to get full placement before he changes his mind on this. TIA for any help.

In PA you can not do anything until the baby is born.
Child support and custody are separate and if you are not married your LO's father would have no parental rights to him/her until he filed for custody/visitation.
You file for child support shortly after giving birth and then wait for him to file for custody. If he doesn't want anything to do with the baby he wont file. You can have all your information ready for when you can file to make it easier. I needed his address, employer, and then my basic income information.
