Food Allergy

quick vent!

I have to take deep breaths on the baby/toddler boards when people say that it is okay to give their kids peanuts/tree nuts/whatever at the earliest possible time because they have no family history of allergies.  What is that?  I know a few kids with allergies and know OF a bunch more and NONE of them have allergies in their families.  Nobody in my family or DH's has a single food allergy and my son is a mess.  I get that there is a higher likelihood if there is a family connection, BUT it doesn't mean you are going to be "home free".  Just had to say that finally...

I agree with you. DH and I have no allergies but both boys have MSPI.

  • I agree.. DH and I do not have any allergies and no one in our family (that we are aware of) have food allergies and yet, DS has milk, soy, egg, peanut and had sesame.  I would have NEVER expected it and was completely shocked when we finally found out.
