QUICK wwyd - would you leave sick kid...

DD is acting normal - she has a little cold but otherwise acting normal. She has low 99 fever though. AND this morning she threw up (though I think it was combo of just inhaling breakfast, being in a tight car seat and coughing - gag reflex) She says she feels fine and is acting fine and has been eating normal foods fine all day with no issue.

DH and I are supposed to go out with friends (We NEVER go out!!) in about an hour and starting to wonder if I am a bad mom for leaving her with a babysitter like this? DH isn't worried, just the mommy in me. We will be about 25-30 mins away so could leave and come home if she wasn't feeling good or wanted us...

WWYD? I have to make the call and let the babysitter know in the next half hour or so!

TIA!

  • If she is not complaining, acting fine, and eating and drinking normally I would 100% go. Have fun!!

she is slightly not herself -more about having a little cold though - other than sounding stuffy, she is pretty darn normal  - normal appetite etc... ahhh mom-guilt - but I know you are right and she would be just fine. Thanks!

  • I'd go, as long as the babysitter had been filled in on the situation and was totally fine with it!

  • Go, have fun. Just give the babysitter a heads up. You can always come home if there is a serious issue.

  • Thanks ladies! I feel better that you are all saying the same thing  -will definitely be checking in with sitter and making sure she feels comfortable calling me if she has any concern at all.

    Thanks!
