DD1 uses a big kid swing (now that she likes to swing at all) and has for awhile. She used to just sit on my lap when she was too nervous to do it by herself. She likes it enough now that we just replaced the swings on our swing set with new ones (our neighbors gave us their set, so the swings were about 10 years old).
I've been trying to teach pumping her legs, but I have no idea when she'll get the hang of it. Or of dragging her feet to slow down before she jumps off!
DS has been using the big kid swings since last summer but he still hasn't figured out how to pump his legs yet. I'm hoping it's soon because he loves to swing and I'm tired of pushing him.
My 3 year old uses the big kid swings. I can't remember if she used them last year when she was 2 but I don't think so. She is just starting to understand the whole pumping thing but can't really do it herself. My older DD is about to turn 5 and can pump but still needs a push to get started and doesn't go very fast with pumping so still likes to be pushed even though she can do it - I am sure by the end of the summer, she will have it down.

DD1 started using the big kid swings last summer but she isn't pumping on her own yet.
We had a playdate with a couple of her classmates with older siblings, and the 4.5 y.o. girl could pump but the 5 y.o. boy couldn't.
