VBAC

35+?

Is age a factor when being considered for a VBAC?  I will be 37 when delivering, and I really hope for a VBAC!  I have a consultation with my doctor (who does encourage VBACs) in a few weeks, but was just wondering if anyone 35+ has had a sucessful VBAC.

Re: 35+?

  • I haven't had a VBAC yet but hopefully this September I will Smile

I am 38 (a month away from 39 when I deliver).  My age has not been mentioned at all by my MW so I don't think it is an issue!

  • i am 42 and my doc is supportive of trying a VBAC.

that being said, i have read the a LOT of VBAC studies, and age does appear to be a factor in success.  doc said they would like me to labor, but will have a very low threshold for repeat c/s ... which i get ... i just want a chance, and there is no reason a healthy AMA mom shouldn't be given the chance.

  • As far as I'm concerned - it poses no risk or difference. I'll be weeks just shy of 40 when this baby is born.
