Chub-rub? Anyone? (Maybe TMI?)

So... for about the last week or so I've started getting some chub-rub right at the top of my thighs, but not actually in my who-ha. (Maybe TMI, sorry). It's just some red chaffing. I'm pretty sure that it's not a yeast infection because it doesn't itch at all (in fact it makes me want to cry to touch it) and it'll go away after about a day of being off work and taking it easy.  It gets so sore especially after I've been walking around work for 14 hours... Any other bumpies having this problem or know of any relief? I'm kinda desperate... It hurts like none other!

(I'm getting ready to leave so this is a post and run, but I'll check it tonight when I get back. Thanks in advance ladies!)

  • I got a rash in thighs and the doctor told me to take Benedryl. It would itch like mad.

  • Sometimes when its very warm, I get a little redness under my boobs.. DD's.  So i think I know what you're talking about... I use a little baby powder if I know im going to be really hot..and it helps, and relieves the redness.  You could try that..

This.  In the booty area, DH calls it Swamp A$$ which can lead to a similar type of rash.  Use diaper cream.  Once it gets better, you can also try powder.  Make sure you're wearing all cotton underwear - not just the cotton crotch liner.

  • I must also have a mind in the gutter....I was thinking you meant something totally different!!!

I would suggest 100% cotton clothing if possible, and medicated gold bond powder after a shower and maybe even reapply during the day to keep the area very dry.  The other thing you might want to look into is wearing men's boxer briefs (100% cotton) because they will protect the area when walking.

  • the monistat line makes a product called "chafing cream" and it works wonders! also, baby powder. you can even use the male version of chaffing cream. as a last resort, migh i suggest some men's boxer briefs as underwear? worked well for a girlfriend of mine.

  • I have this too. I never had my thighs rub together, but now they are, so I think my skin is very sensitive to it. I have what kind of feels like a "heat rash" + chaffing. Small red bumps that HURT!  I put some cortizone cream on the other night, and it instantly relieved the pain, and by morning the bumps looked much lighter and smaller.

  • No matter my weight, I've always had chub rub. My legs haven't gotten any bigger with pregnancy but I am definitely more uncomfortable - more body heat I guess. In the Summer, i usually wear biker shorts or spanx shorts under my dresses and skirts. Also I wear opaque tights until its about 75 degrees outside, it keeps everything awesome. If it gets really bad - monster-sized bandages (you know the ones for blister relief) sometimes work the best. It's definitely not fun.

  • My thigs chafe when I wear skirts or dresses without support underwear. Buy these! They've saved my life. lol.

This exactly! I use a and d right before I go to bed. I get chaffing if I wear a dress or something... But the next day I just wear pants or capris and I am fine.

They also have some stuff at bike shops...bicycle that is. Since they are on the bike a lot they make this chaffing thing that comes in a stick like deodorant. It works really well to help keep from chaffing.
