Cloth Diapering

Grovia AI2 users

We are currently using PF and covers, but I wanted to get a few of the grovia AI2s OS to try.  It says on their website to wash the inserts in warm.  I was wondering if any of you actually wash the inserts in hot water?  I'd like to wash the inserts with the PFs (since I will only have a few to start) and keep washing them on a hot cycle.  Will this hurt the snaps on the inserts?

I already wash my covers on warm, but I don't do as many rinses as I do with the PFs.  Any laundry advice would be helpful!

  • I wash everything CD related on hot, including my Grovia inserts. I've never had any issues. I wonder if they say that b/c they have PUL on the bottom of them.

  • The only issue with washing on hot (and this is true for any diaper with elastic) is that it causes wear on the elastic. They showed some pictures on their FB site of elastics that had needed to be replaced do to being washed in hot water. I think it is more of an issue for the covers than the inserts. That said, I've been washing mine on hot-ish and haven't had any problems. I say hot-ish as our portable washer only handles water up to 122 degrees, which I think is still considered warm.
