Baby Names

Continuing a family name

We have decided to name our son William Heflin B., IV.

Please send suggestions on what we should call him. My husband goes by William and has never really liked "Will" because people automatically shorten his name, even after he introduces himself as "William."  I don't really want two Williams in the house and don't like "Bill" for a baby.  My sister suggested "Flin" from Heflin but he doesn't like that either.  This is becoming way too difficult!

Liam is a good nn for William.  You could always wait until he's born and see if there's anything that sticks, too.  Smile

Liam is also all I would think of if Will and Bill are out. Or you could call him Jr. I know he won't really be Jr., but it goes along the lines of naming his after someone.

    Liam is a great suggestion.

The two Williams I know named after their fathers went by Willy and Billy growing up.

  • I think Billy is cute on a little boy, Liam is also good.
