When did you have your first appointment?

My doc can't get me in until next Friday. I'm anxious to get in there! I know a lot of doctors don't see people until 8 weeks, just wondering what the norm is.

My first appt. is scheduled for the 1st. But, my first u/s isn't scheduled until 6/17. Ugh! The wait is KILLING me!

My first is tomorrow (4.5 weeks). The lady scheduling me had no idea about anything, so the doctor may laugh at me when I get back there, but whatever, I just want a confirmation that I really am pregnant (I know, that's lame). Then I'll get a referral to another doctor that my friend went to for her pregnancy. My doctor is always super busy & I'd rather not have to fight to get an appointment-- we usually end up going to the Urgent Care if we're sick bc our doctor is too full to see us.

Don't want that to happen with a baby on the way!

Your first appointment all depends on your history & risk factors. For those that have been TTC for a long time, or receiving infertility treatments; typically the doctor/RE will want to see you quickly & have exams to confirm that all is well.

For low risk patients, some doctors don't want to see you until the 2nd trimester.

In my opinion (I'm not in the medical profession at all), you should have preliminary blood work done to confirm your HCG (beta) levels and your TSH levels at a minimum.

My Dr doesn't see anyone until 10 weeks! UGH!!! So I have to wait until June 13th! Feels like FOREVER!!!

Mine was on Tuesday and I was 4 weeks, 6 days at the time according to me, since I know when I ovulated. Of course I know the ob's office is determining my dd by lmp so according to them I was almost 8 weeks. I have my first ultrasound on Tuesday to get an exact date, I think it will be very close, if not exactly when I think I'm due (Jan. 18).
