We're going OOT tomorrow. 

the problem?  No place to stay yet.

We thought we had it all arranged. The home owner (using VRBO) emailed yesterday, in response to my request for a contract/bill/whatever, to say that the place wouldn't be ready as it hasn't been cleaned since October. OCTOBER! ew.  Thanks for being honest, but if vrbo shows it as available, get it ready! vrbo shows that the availability was updated in early May.  

Anyhow....I've been working all day to find something else.  Something with a kitchen and things to do w/in walking distance.  apparently too much to ask.

lame. I would definitely write that in the owners comments section so it doesnt happen to anyone else. Did you pay a deposit?

No.  She told me not to - we'd just do one payment this week.  Hello, red flag.  I'm sure she was buying more time to get it cleaned and ready.

Its probably better you didnt stay there anyway if she is so lazy about cleaning it, yuck
