XP: 100 ounces for three days?

We're leaving DD from Friday at about noon until sometime early Sunday afternoon. I am planning to leave ~100 ounces of breastmilk with my parents for her - this should be enough for one full day and two partial days right?

I have at least 200 ounces in my stash, so I can send more, but I calculated a high milk intake (~30 ounces/day) x 3 full days and then added 10 more ounces.

 Sound good?

  • I'd say you're spot on.  And I'm insanely jealous of your 200 oz stash- I have a hot 5 oz!

  • I have no idea how I got that much... I tapped out my stash in April for another weekend-long trip and this is just from April 1 - now. Embarrassed I don't pump that often, because I hate it, but I must be doing something right!

  • Um seriously.  Jealous.  I pump once a day and it takes me almost a week to get ONE bottle's worth.  Geez.

  • So this is kind of off subject but I could use your help! How did you get such a great supply? I have tried so hard and still my supply is nothing like that! How often do you pump? How much do you usually get a day with pumping? TIA

  • Seriously I have maybe 20oz left in my freezer stash. I have to pump about 6 times a day, 1 in the am 2-3 at work, and 2 or so at night and I only barely get enough for his bottles each day for the nanny which is like 18oz

you'd hate me then. I've been storing the stuff since DD was 4days old and right now I have about 1300 oz in a freezer in our basement.

I don't pump on a set schedule. I always pump in the morning after DD eats. I will pump between 1 and 3 times at work, depending on my schedule (I sometimes am able to go home to DD after a few hours and work from there, instead of at the office). I never pump after I get home - never before bed (we don't have a set routine or anything) and absolutely never overnight. So I really don't know how I do it. Embarrassed

I usually get 6-10 ounces per pumping session.

I respond really well to the pump, which helps - I use a Lansinoh Affinity Double Electric.
