YAY! Admitted because I was having contractions 1 minute apart (i thought they were more like 3)...
SO I am getting magnesium sulfate to try and stop them because we have done everything else at this point.
So tired... here til Saturday at the least they said.
Hoping no more dialation or anything. UGH!!!
Re: At the hospital again...
Things I've learned since being admitted to Good Sam.
The food here sucks. I can't even begin to be nice here. The broccoli was brown, my peas were grey and I don't eat meat that I have to ASK what it is first. It is seriously foul.
Mag Sulfate is bad, but apparently I can handle it okay. They are all really shocked. I am not nauseous and my vision got blurry during the bolous but has been okay since then. I just feel sort of... almost on the edge of drunk/sick.
This place is full of crazies! WOW! They are also so incredibly busy right now that there are no single rooms, everyone is doubled up. They waiting room for triage was 3-4 pregnant women deep. As in 3-4 women, moaning and having contractions in front of all the family members of people waiting for their loved ones to have a baby.
As for me- no idea what we are going to do. They have started to lower my rate of mag sulfate and I am starting to have contractions. So... guess we will wait until tomorrow when they check me to see what we are going to do.
How long do they think they will keep you? If you get admitted to special care OB there can be MUCH better food brought to you. I was there for 10 weeks on bed rest and you can change the menu and order food that is more palatable. I did find their "thanksgiving dinner" meal was actually decent but the rest were iffy. I consistently relied on their pizza which you can order for any meal, or grilled cheese or chef's salad. Plus the fridge on the special care OB floor always has ice cream cups in the freezer :-) The special care OB nurses and PCA's are really great and want to be helpful so if you are admitted definitely take advantage of that!
I will be keeping you in my T&P that the mag works in stopping your contractions! Keep us updated! ((hugs))
I am in special care OB right now. I wasn't here early enough to fill out my form. Tonight was brown broccoli with some sort of meat that was unidentifiable and green beans with corn. They had a blueberry parfait dessert that looked palatable but that was it so I gave it to my roommate and had DH bring me subway. Hopefully I can pick out something better tomorrow to eat.
They actually have a great selection for non meals! I was shocked! Ice cream, jello, drinks, popsicles, turkey sandwiches, etc.
They are slowly weaning the mag off me now and unfortunatley I am having a few contractions, though nothing timeable and not more than 5 per hour (had four two hours ago).
SO- we wait and see.
Stupid uterus. I did learn that the current medical thought is that things like my condition are caused by the placenta, and the sperm decides the placenta- so that means this is all DH's fault. I had fun blaming him!
