My shameful confession

This pregnancy has really done a number on me. I am so freaking tired and feel icky all day. By dinner time, food does not sound even remotely appealing and I have zero energy. I have thrown my meal planning out the window (what's the point when what sounds good at lunch time often sounds disgusting by dinner?) and we have been eating out way too much. I just keep waiting for this to (hopefully) pass.

Today, though, we were home for lunch and I asked Ellie what she wanted to eat. She said, "Um, I'll take a five-piece nugget and a Dr. Pepper." Embarrassed Do you think we need to cut back on the dining out? She doesn't even know what Dr. Pepper is, much less actually drink it. I am so embarrassed.

Re: My shameful confession

  • I know how you feel. I can count on one hand the amount of times we've eaten at home in the last month.  I just don't have the energy to cook once I get home from work.  Maybe we should go out and grab dinner and talk about our meal planning expertise! Wink

  • I am soooo right there with you.  I would be embarrassed to post what DD has been eating lately.

  • Don't be embarrassed!  This post makes me think of my friend who had the EXACT same thing happen to her when she was PG with her 2nd, right down to the Dr. Pepper request, lol.

  • Oh, man. I had SEVERE food aversions when I was pregnant. Sometimes, I spent more than 20 minutes, standing in the middle of my building's cafe, trying to figure out what (if anything) sounded good.

I've been eating seriously nothing but junk and fruit.  It's just DH and I, but we've eaten out more in the last 2 months than we ever have.

This stage shall pass and nutritous food will sound good again.....right??

  • I was nauseous and exhausted for like the first 25 weeks of my pregnancy.  The only thing I could eat was french fries and the prepared fresh fruit mixes from Krogers.  When I found out I had GD I literally stood in the middle of the kitchen and cried because we had nothing I could eat in the house and what we did have I had no desire to eat. Hopefully this too shall pass!

This exactly!  In fact, for lunch I let Griffin sit here with a box of cereal and a cup of OJ.  He ate right out of the box.  And that is probably one of the better things he's eaten lately.

Man, this sounds exactly like me during months 3-5, all I wanted were giant slices of new york style pizza, corn dogs, granny smith apples, and grapefruit.  Weird.
