Tips to get DD to take her meds?

DD is on Augmentine (sp?) for yet another ear infection   Usually she loves taking medicine but this stuff she seems to find absolutely disgusting. It's flavored and I've tried everything I can think of but she just refuses to take it!

I tried getting her to do it herself, fail. Putting it in a yogurt smoothie, OJ, milk...fail. If I pin her down and put it in the corner of her mouth (like pedi's suggest), she gurgles and gags and spits it all out. I just can't get her to take a full dose and we still have 8 days left, 2x a day! Help please. What else can I try??

yep, a liquid. Maybe I'll try that. I'm afraid of wasting more though! I guess I could always call the pedi for another script if it gets to that point... Thanks for the suggestion!

Yup Augmentin is nasty stuff. DS was been on it several times before we got ear tubes.  The weird thing with Augmentin is the Dr tells you its terrible and to ask for a flavor and then it taste worse than when its unflavored.  I once forgot to get a flavor and DS took it like candy.  No real tips but holding the baby down and then following with something she loves. Sometimes I blow in his face because it will make him swallow.

I had this issue with DD after her surgery & she would not take the pain meds!  I felt so bad for her & tried a ton of things.  I can't say it worked wonders but apple sauce seemed to work the best.  I did the syringe thing & she could gag & spit it out no matter how far back I got it. even when I put her almost flat on her back.  If the apple sauce fails I would call the pedi & let they know what trouble you are having.  They could always find something else that works just a good with a different taste.
