New here with a question

Hi, Ladies!  I have a beautiful 8 month old baby boy, and love being able to stay home with him.  I am going to school part-time to finish my bachlor's degree.  I hope to contribute to this board instead of just lirking. 

My question:  DS has his first playdate Friday.  I do not know the other mom very well and we are going to her house (she has 7 month old twins).  I was curious how long should DS and I stay?  I was thinking an 1 or 2 would be appropriate.  What are your thoughts and experiences?

My next question is DS and the twins are at the stage where everything goes into their mouths.  Should I bring some of DS' toys for him to play with and chew on (besides the usual teether and rattle in the diaper bag)?

I would say feel it out, plan for 1-2 hours and see how it goes. I would bring some toys for your LO and if he puts all their toys in his mouth then just offer to help wash them.
