Moms of nighttime leakers/ heavy wetters - help!

Ok. I've tried pockets, AIOs, hemp, doubling hemp inserts and STILL we're leaking at least once a night.  :( Help!

I'm open to any suggestions from you ladies who have nipped this midnight change in the butt (pun intended).  So prefolds? fitteds? Woolies? I'm lost - I use mostly pockets and AIOs and AI2s (grovias).

  • The standard response around here seems to be fitteds (possibly with extra hemp stuffed in them) and woolies.  The fitteds work better because the entire diaper is absorbent material.  We've got one SBish snapless and I love it (planning to try making a couple more like it tonight).

  • Get your hands on some fitteds with a wool or PUL cover. We use sbish or gm.gn + Thirsties Duo Wrap or an sbish wool cover and NEVER have a problem!

If you're looking to try, I have some goodmama goodnights and a Monkeez OBV nite nite on Spots' right now ... ;-) Another Bumpie (shoutout to Yoda!) got me started with fitteds and wool for overnight and I <3 her for it, so I'm trying to pay it forward!

  • Here are the replies to my same question from a few days ago. I'm still figuring it out, too.  Last night, I tried 2 hemp inserts plus a hemp babies little weeds and woke up to wet PJs.  The TT is next to try but I don't know if it's going to work because it's so trim, I don't know if I can get anything else in there.

  • I feel your pain. We tried everything for night time, even fitteds. Those didn't work either. Neither did sposies.

I tried Applecheeks from when they were on BabyHalfOff a little ways back. Seriously, they have saved my life.  (lol dramatic much?) We stuff it with 2 Applecheeks inserts (trifolded) and one microfiber insert. She's had no leaks, since we started using them, whereas before it was a nightly occurance. I was so tired of washing sheets and pee saturated clothes. I sold most of my stash to stock back up with Applecheeks. I am SO SO SO glad that I did. I'm not sure if they still are, but they have been on clearance at Diva Diapers.

  • Thanks ladies for your help! Now to find some fitteds... oh and what is TT? Sorry - still figuring out lingo, and I'm only on my 4th sip of my large DD coffee.  It makes for a long night with an baby waking up wet 3 times. Sleep

TT is Twinkie Tush.  She has a Hyenacart store and her diapers sell out in 0.00001 seconds when she stocks.

  • OP: Just FYI, I forgot to mention above that the only reason I'm selling those dipes on Spots is because DH prefers using snapless for nighttime (go figure!) so I'm destashing the snapped overnight dipes and getting some snapless instead.

  • My DD has been a heavy overnight wetter for awhile and pockets w/hemp inserts used to do the trick.  But she recently became a tummy sleeper and would leak out of all her pockets.  So, the past few nights I've been using fitteds w/PUL covers or wool over top and have had MUCH more success.  Of my fitteds, so far I've had the most luck with TT and B4 (bububebe) for overnight.  PUL covers are ok, but still sometimes leak.  I've been using a pair of Woollybottom footies over the fitted, and that's going really well.  The wool is barely damp in the morning and no more tummy leaks.  I'm going to try my wool soaker next.
  • I'd at least try fitteds and wool.

DD started leaking out of her pockets this week and it freaked me out enough to use sposies for a couple of days. Fitteds and wool left her wet in the morning but she STTN. She's currently still(!) asleep (gotta love growth spurts) in a pocket I stuffed the hell out of last night.

Of all the solutions we have tried, I was shocked that the original prefold with a hemp insert works best.

He is a HEAVY wetter and makes it from 8:30pm to 6:30am with no changes. Every other solution has resulted in leaks for us...usually within 4 hours too  :(
