My comment about teachers quitting in the first 5 years wasn't directed to you. I know a lot of teachers who truly quit... not leave to be a SAHM, which IMHO is the most noble thing you can do. I know you run your business, but one of the perks is getting spend time with your adorable daughter.
Re: **linzpinz**
Oh, I know you weren't directing anything at me! And I know you didn't mean it negatively either! I luv ya, Kel! I quoted you because I am also sure that I will get upset about watching that movie! Documentaries also get me all excited and then I start annoying the people in my life by talking too much about what I have learned!
There is a definite difference in the stat for teachers who quit, because they don't want to be in the profession anymore (and there is nothing wrong with that - we know it's a tough profession!) compared with teachers who quit to do something else within the profession or to SAH. Either way, it is sad that most of us leave in the first 5 years... I think it just goes to show how much education needs to be reformed. There is obviously a reason why more teachers don't stay!
But anyways, I hate being part of a statistic! (Even though I am so happy that I'm not teaching right now too!) And thanks for calling C adorable! We really need to get our kids together for a playdate this summer!
